# Category:Launch It!

Launch It! is an in-house exhibition created at the Discovery Center of Idaho. This is the first exhibition designed by Eric Miller and it focuses on physics, specifically flinging, flying, throwing and, of course, launching things. It will be open from December 2014 until May 2015. Below is a list of individual exhibits and demonstrations in this exhibition.

## Important Concepts of this Exhibition

• $f = ma$ - Force (f) equals mass (m) times acceleration (a)
• $E_\text{p} =mgh,$ - Gravitational potential energy ($E_\text{p}$) equals mass (m) times the acceleration of gravity (g) times the height the object is raised (h)
• $E_\text{k} =\tfrac{1}{2} mv^2$ - Kinetic energy ($E_\text{k}$) equals one half times mass (m) times velocity (v) squared
• Gravity (near Earth's surface) accelerates things downward at $9.8 m/s^2$ (meters per second squared)
